Senior Operations Control Specialist

Recruited to develop all project management process and to manage the implementation and execution of the new procedures at this Dresser-Rand/GE backed start-up company founded to develop a cutting edge technology for waste heat capture. Responsible for deployment of all project and program control technology. Worked closely with the management team to develop the earned value management (EVM) program. Fully responsible for implementation of the EVM process across the organization. Operation Controls Specialist duties include budget establishment and monitoring, scope and change management, project reporting, including tracking of key performance indicators (KPI), risk identification and management, record retention and retrieval system establishment and maintenance, vendor information control, and parts inventory control.

Key Achievements:

·        Developed project management procedures in conformance with both the PMI PMBOK and ISO 10006:2004, facilitating Echogen’s achievement of certification under ISO 9001:2008.

·        Successfully deployed Primavera P6 Enterprise scheduling tool allowing improved management of company resources utilizing a solution that will integrate with any future ERP system selected by the company.

Senior Project Controls Specialist

Developed engineering and construction schedules for small to large ($750+ million) projects including cost and resource loading. Delivered earned value (EV), budget and resource loading information as appropriate for project manager, project requirements and budget. Managed remote construction projects developing multiple prime contractor strategy, and construction phasing plans. Lead estimator for large commercial and public sector projects.

Key Achievements:

·        Received top retail client (Wal-Mart) recognition for developing new streamlined, repeatable procedures to turnaround $20 million cost estimates for non-standard stores in one day. Invited by client to national HQ to train internal staff on process.

Senior Project Manager

As Senior Project Manager, developed construction specifications, contracting strategies, bid projects, drafted contracts and supervised work onsite. Responsible for all scheduling, cost estimating and contract management. Responsible for the civil design project management, including sub division layout, site utility plans, storm water management planning and OEPA compliance (404/401 permitting). Developed all marketing materials, identified and developed leads, represented Mayfield at trade shows.

Key Achievements:

·        Construction schedules instrumental in ensuring every milestone was met on time for three year, multi-site project.

·        Successfully led the effort that secured, designed, and constructed a new high school sports facility, the largest project for Mayfield in that year.

 

CHOICE CONSTRUCTION in Partnership with Parsons Aviation Cleveland, OH                                          1998 – 2003

Scheduler/Project Manager – Cleveland Hopkins Airport Expansion Program

Recruited to provide project control support, including all cost and schedule reports for all stakeholders. Additional responsibilities included co-development of baseline schedules with the contractors and participation in the owner’s defense for schedule related claims. Other duties included the administration of construction budgets and schedules, development and negotiation of contract changes, managed the processing of invoices, submittals, information requests and change requests.

Key Achievements:

·        Developed and maintained cost loaded schedules for $1.4 billion of work tracking 30+ active projects.

·        Administered two construction contracts for the City of Cleveland during the 2002 construction season with a total value exceeding $4.4 million.

·        Developed the budget and schedule for the phased $100+ million relocation of a portion of the NASA Glenn Research Center, monitored progress, generated earned value reports and used the information to analyze contractor and consultant pay requests.

 

O’BRIEN KREITZBERG (Now part of URS) – Cleveland, OH                                                                      1996 – 1998

Project Controls Manager

Developed and maintained schedules for all construction projects managed from the Cleveland office. Assisted prime contractors in the coordination, sequencing and prioritization of their work. Implemented program management and quality assurance plans, responsible for the management of preliminary engineering budgets. Used earned value to recommend approval or rejection of designer invoices.

Key Achievements:

·        Developed and maintained the cost loaded schedules for $375 million worth of work.
